By mid-2027, at least 50 percent of Fortune 500 companies with legacy IT divisions will have executed similar restructurings: deep cuts to on-premises support, traditional SaaS operations, and manual testing teams, paired with aggressive hiring and investment in AI engineering, cloud infrastructure, and machine learning operations.
The Pattern Is Already Forming
Oracle is the most dramatic example, but the playbook is visible across the industry:
